HP Black Cartridge
27,56,94.96

***IMPORTANT NOTICE*** Do not try printing with your cartridge completely out of ink, you could damage the printhead. Inkjet printers work by heating up a resistor inside the printhead, which heats up the ink before it is sprayed onto the paper. If there is no ink to keep these cool, it is possible to fry them.

Always refill before you are completely run out of ink.

Instructions:

1. Peel off the top label.
2. Screw the needle on to the syringe and draw some ink into it. The 27 & 56 cartridges will hold about 15ml, the 94 holds about 10, and the 96 holds about 20.
3. Slowly inject ink into any hole (HP used the same mold for the color cartridges).
4. When finished, replace the label if you wish. It will make no difference in the printing.
5. Set the cartridge on something (ie: block of wood) that will allow the printhead to hang off the edge, allowing any excess ink to drip onto a paper towel. Let it sit until the vacuum stabilizes and the cartridge stops dripping. Do not allow the printhead to touch the paper towel

Replace the cartridge and run 1-3 cleaning cycles as per printer instructions.

If necessary, leave the cartridge in the printer for up to 24 hours.

The cartridge will print just like a new one. Even though the cartridge prints good, the ink level gauge will not read full after a refill. To reset the ink level gauge back to full, follow these instructions.
**Pertains to the 27 and 56 cartridges**
